Overview

The African Diaspora International Film Festival (ADIFF) returns to New York, showcasing stories from Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, and North America that explore the richness and diversity of the Black experience. Founded in 1993, ADIFF has become a vital platform for independent filmmakers whose voices often remain underrepresented in mainstream cinema.

Highlights

🎬 Global Perspectives – Films span the African diaspora, offering nuanced, complex narratives that highlight both shared struggles and unique cultural identities.

🌍 Independent Voices – ADIFF champions emerging and independent filmmakers, providing visibility to works that challenge stereotypes and expand representation.

✨ Genre Diversity – From documentaries and historical dramas to comedies and experimental films, the festival embraces storytelling in all its forms.

🎤 Talkbacks & Panels – Post-screening discussions with directors, actors, and scholars create space for dialogue on culture, politics, and social justice.

🏛️ Community & Education – Beyond screenings, ADIFF builds bridges with schools, community groups, and cultural institutions to deepen engagement and inspire future creators.
