Overview

Each June, cities around the world celebrate LGBT Pride, honoring the history of the LGBTQ+ rights movement while showcasing the vibrancy, resilience, and diversity of queer communities. What began as a commemoration of the 1969 Stonewall uprising has become both a global celebration and a continuing call for equality, inclusion, and human rights.

Highlights

🌈 Parades & Marches – From New York to São Paulo, San Francisco to Berlin, Pride parades remain the heart of the movement—equal parts protest, celebration, and community gathering.

🌟 Visibility & Representation – Pride provides a platform for LGBTQ+ voices across arts, politics, and media, amplifying role models and advocates who inspire change.

🎶 Festivals & Performances – Music, drag, theater, and cultural showcases highlight queer creativity, with global icons and local artists alike taking the stage.

🏳️‍⚧️ Intersectionality & Inclusion – Increasingly, Pride focuses on diverse identities within the LGBTQ+ spectrum, from trans and nonbinary representation to racial and cultural intersections.

💡 Corporate & Political Commitments – Pride has become a barometer of progress, with businesses and governments signaling support—though often sparking debate over authenticity versus performative allyship.
